Kiln Drying
Starts at $1.50 / bd ftWe kiln-dry all our wood in house and will happily add your wood to our own loads. Typically we dry our wood for 1 week per inch, therefore one load takes 2-3 weeks but this depends on starting moisture, other wood in kiln, species, and other reasons. We start at $1.50 per board foot but this price can change for various reasons such as awkward shaped pieces that take up more room, weight, etc.
Jointing/Planing
Starts at $90 / hrOur jointer/planer is capable of processing 19.5" wide planks. Jointing and planing is typically a quick processes but some cases might slow it down such as epoxy or heavy twist.
NOTE: We will not process wood that has or appears to have metal in this machine. we will bring it to our flattener and process it there.
Wood Flattening
Starts at $90 / hrIs your slab too big for the planer?
Our manual CNC router sled can flatten up to 56" wide and 12' long. We charge by hour and can typically finish both sides of a 4x8' slab in just over an hour. Cases like metal in the slab, epoxy, twist amount, wood species, can all change affect the rate we finish a slab. Once finished on the flattener we highly recommend finishing on the belt sander to remove the aggressive router marks although they can be sanded out by hand.
Wide-Belt Sanding
Starts at $90 / hrOur wide-belt sander is capable of sanding 52" wide wood. Wood must be flat before going through the wide belt. Sanding a 4x8' slab at 80 grit typically takes just under an hour. Some cases that can reduce or increase the processing time are epoxy, pre-existing finish, cup/twist, species. We have 80 grit, 120 grit, 220 grit available, all of these will require finish sanding after processing.
